Engaging People Series - Stories of Citizens Revitalizing Democracy
This entry is an abbreviated trailer for a web series launching in May called "Engaging People"—citizens who are engaged and actively making change in their communities. They serve as role models of service, volunteerism and political action every day and in crisis situations (including the after effects of Hurricane Sandy), illustrating what it means to be an active participant in American democracy. The online series will provide inspired examples of how empowered citizens improve communities and society in a wide array of positive ways.

Voices of Hope Productions deals with real issues. In Jersey City I have watched Lori'sgroup document the struggle of ex-offender's & prison recidivism. I know with funding they will produce a vital & engaging series.

Lori and her group have produced an important and inspiring document to the fact that democracy is not words, not a government program, but ACTIONS by people who want to make the world a better place for everyone--that is democracy.
As a piece of visual storytelling, this video is conceived and constructed with critical ideas and good photography that have IMPACT and should be supported!

I have witnessed Lori's passion for democracy and equality though out many years. She and VOH are nothing short of inspiring. Voices of Hope is just that... A venue to offer hope to those who so often have no voice at all in society.

Lori has a truly positive perspective on our civic and political climate today. She sees the problems but she doesn't complain. She gets busy telling stories about people taking charge of their communities. Her passion to spotlight the good people are already doing will multiply the efforts of engaged citizens.
Good, true stories inspire people to action - Lori gets it.
