2013: The Year Maryland Became the 18th State to End the Death Penalty
For the ACLU of Maryland, the campaign to end the death penalty has lasted over 20 years. And while there have been many twists and turns throughout the last two decades, 2013 was our year.
Possible only because of the tireless dedication of numerous organizations, victims' families, exonerated individuals, and thousands of community members, law makers successfully passed legislation to end this racially biased and antiquated practice in Maryland once and for all.
Our infographic is one symbol of this profound victory and how we effectively communicated that the death penalty has no place in Maryland.

Hi Sana,
Congratulations and excellent work.
I'd be interested to know what you think of the LPad idea, outlined in the Agenda Setter video:
http://lookingatdemocracy.org/submissions/14839-agenda-setters
It's a proposal to allow people to write a Life Penalty Advanced Directive in their will. It provides the legal authority to honor the wishes of those who may be murderered.
