Civitas ARG is an Augmented Reality Game and Transmedia Story with two parts: website and mobile application. The game promotes civic engagement by awarding points and badges for good citizenship, specifically offline political action. Premium points are for actions which place the player in contact with their elected representatives. Citizens mark local political concerns on a map, open a thread to discuss action in the Forum, and ratify an action with a vote. The action appears on a map and calendar as an event which any Citizen can attend and support. Following an event, Citizens can rate their elected officials and evaluate their action. Civitas ARG is in development now, and scheduled for a Beta launch in Washington and Oregon in September.
