If I was President One Day

On President’s Day a few months ago, when I visited a nursing home in Queens, inspired by the day’s attributes, I asked the senior citizens one simple question: If there was one thing you would want the president to do, what would it be? Of course, I received more than one response, but the one that struck me the most was world peace. This song serves as a tribute to the fact that their wishes have not been forgotten.

If I was President One Day Written by Jia Jie Chen Sung by Christian Hernandez

If I was President one day I would make the world a better place There would be no war, what use is it for We’ll open new doors for the human race

There would be no more hunger And nobody would feel oppressed Now let us all sing, and let freedom ring We’ll give the whole world our blessings I would make amends with all And put an end to suffering So let there be peace, let the violence cease Because together we are one

If I was the Head of State We would all cooperate I would embrace everyone Instead of some or none From sea to shining sea We would live in harmony Because this is the power Of democracy

Our planet would be clean And poverty would not exist We’ll enrich our brains, we’d lose our chains And there would be more scientists There would be a Golden Age Where everyone would do their best As a citizen, I may be different But together we are one

If I was the Head of State I would set my record straight I would listen to everyone And we won’t resort to guns From the suburbs to cities We would live in harmony Because this is the power Of democracy

If I was the Head of State We would all cooperate I would embrace everyone Instead of some or none From sea to shining sea We would live in harmony Because this is the power Of democracy

Only if I was prez for a day or two If I was president for a day or two

Try it out
