Your voice matters.
Young people want to shape the world. But as young people, are we doing all we can to make our voice heard? A democracy is defined as “a system of government by the whole population”. A whole population. That includes us. We have an opinion, we have a point of view. It’s our duty as engaged citizens to speak up and get involved.
We are not the future of America. We are America. And although we might not all be old enough to vote, when we engage in our communities as teens, we lay a solid foundation to be engaged adults—happy, healthy, contributing, advocating, informed adults.
As the Camp Fire National Youth Advisory Cabinet, we are passionate about our world. We see a need to spread the word to other young people about the importance of being actively involved in our communities, in our country. At Camp Fire, we have a promise.
Young people want to shape the world. Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their sparks, lift their voice, and discover who they are. In Camp Fire, it begins now.
Light the fire within
