Inspiring Tomorrow's Vote
We believe that providing the opportunity for our students to participate in a mock election allows them to value civic engagement and understand their participation in our country's future elections.
We would like to give special thanks to the UNO Parents, Students, Teachers, and Directors who participated in the making of this video.

There are so many latinos who are not taking advantage of their right to vote. If we want change in our communities, and if we want change for our people we need to have a voice. Silence needs to be broken and we need to realize that if we want progress we must make an effort to educate ourselves about issues outside of our own household. We have a voice and it needs to be heard. Lets vote, because at the end of the day when a bill we do not approve of is signed we have to remember that we had the chance and choice to make a difference but did not.

Thank you for your comment Jessica. We see the exact problem and that is why we try to encourage, when the students are young, to get used to voting on their own.
We are the only school system in Chicago that gives the day off to its students so as to practice the self initiative to go to the voting polls and actually vote.
Instilling this habit will then factor out a major reason as to why currently so many latinos do not vote: Because they don't feel entitled or motivated to go and cast their vote.

I liked your video. Great goal - my entry shows one strategy to help accomplish your goal. Look at my submission. "Elections Clarified" https://vimeo.com/64616892 or
