Reinventing the Patriot
“Reinventing the Patriot” was created to recognize superhero-levels of activism by youth nationwide. The vision was inspired by founder Paige Edmiston’s 2008 essay, “What True Patriotism Means to Me: A New Breed of Superhero for the 21st Century,” which shows how community and civic engagement by youth can lead to results as powerful as any of those delivered by our comic book heroes. The essay is being adapted into a 22-minute film (currently in post-production) that documents the amazing story of the students of Federal Way High School who, in 2012, rallied their community to turnaround a 15 point electoral levy campaign loss into a 20 point victory in eight months, assuring a $120 million state of the art school.

I like what you submitted. I have also entered the competition. Check out my video. I hope to win. My entry proposes a practical step to bring about what your video demonstrates - and if Vote-USA had been in place you may not have needed a second referendum because of informed, involved voters.
